So Who is Sazbol and Why should I read her blog?

Alright, calm down. I’ll tell ya. Just take a chill pill.

In April 2010, I took a career break to travel the world. But then last April I also got diagnosed with NK/T cell lymphoma so I didn’t travel very far.

So instead of a blog about my wild adventures on my “crazy gap year”, I started writing this blog about the mad adventures of a cancer patient. It’s a different kind of journey; one you don’t read about on travel brochures and one that you think you will never go on – and hopefully you won’t.

But for friends and family, this is the easiest way of keeping people informed about my treatment and will hopefully be of interest to anybody who may also be undergoing chemotherapy/radiotherapy. NK/T Cell is a rare aggressive form of lymphoma, so I am really hoping to hear from other people who also have had it.

Cancer can be funny, and I have met some amazing and inspiring people – so I don’t regret one thing about this journey. I can see the World some other time.

After six weeks of radiotherapy and four rounds of SMILE treatment, I was in remission in February 2011 and preparing for a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, my disease came back pretty bad and I am now a Stage Four, which means a transplant is no longer possible. So, I am starting another round of chemotherapy that will hopefully control the disease.

While I am back on the treatment roller coaster, I will continue to stay positive and may be even start some campaigns along the way. Contact information will soon appear here for these.
